Former PRONG Drummer Joins SUBSONIC

June 27, 2005

Former PRONG drummer Dan Laudo has joined SUBSONIC, solo project of former CELTIC FROST guitarist Ron Marks.

Commented Marks in a statement: "I'm proud to announce that my lifelong friend and former PRONG drummer Dan Laudo has agreed to be the tour drummer of SUBSONIC. Having appeared as a guest artist in the 'Dream American' video, it's a natural evolution that Dan's talents and professionalism become part of this project's future in an official capacity.

"Quite a few fans have expressed interest regarding tour dates. The rules of the road have taught me that jumping blindly onto a tour can yield some pretty dismal results. This last year has been devoted to securing worldwide distribution, completing videos and various promotional materials for [SUBSONIC's sophomore album] 'No Such Soul'. Having done so, we're now ready to pursue several immediate goals, one of which being a professional touring situation. Tour dates will be annouced soon."

The follow-up to 2002's "Super-Vel" (Outlaw Entertainment),"No Such Soul" includes a hidden track, "Horror Vacua" — a song Ron originally wrote for CELTIC FROST, but which was never recorded by the influential Swiss outfit.

Ron is a resident of Hermitage, Pennsylvania and has performed in several music related projects as well as recording as SUBSONIC for the last five years. In his youth he and Laudo played in a band with none other than Trent Reznor. Ron Marks has been called "an unusual and almost heavier version of Frank Zappa."
